How brilliant will this be? Coming soon to a Cathedral near you Brummie friends - @SelinaRStone is brilliant & we should all be sitting at her feet! When Wesley talked about 'vital religion' I think this is the kind of thing he had in mind! #PentecostalStudies#SpiritPower
Letting universities go bankrupt to maintain anti migrant policies. Our country needs migration. The last gov were warned this would happen, this gov were warned this would happen.
Anti migrant ideology placed above all sense & reason.
Joint statement from UK faith leaders.
We salute the many people working to restore their neighbourhoods and pledge to work with government and all sections of society towards a constructive and compassionate dialogue on immigration and social cohesion.

Britain has a proud tradition of free speech and peaceful protest – those must always be protected. But violence and hatred targeted at minority communities is never justified and always abhorrent. It is completely unacceptable that Muslim and asylum-seeker communities are feeling so unsafe and I encourage people to reach out and support them.
Often forgotten in the discussion around #universities: they are now providing essential services to students (which would fall away if unis disappeared): mental health support and counselling, employment, career advice etc. Some student unions even have to run food banks.
4.2 million children in the UK are growing up in poverty. That's 30% of children or 9 in a classroom of 30.
71% of those children come from working households.

Time to reform the water industry!
Start with reform of the #Ofwat - not fit for purpose. 5 years ago they said water companies should CUT water bills!
Water company bosses to repay all bonuses paid over the last 5 years #ThamesWater

BREAKING: UN rapporteurs have now declared that famine has taken hold throughout Gaza, the consequence of Israel's policy of forcibly starving the civilian population. https://t.co/MmDFyToZyf
"theology trades in things that are potent, exotic and should not be tamed" What a brilliant man Patterson is. Practical Theology that creates, things, deepens, bridges, overcomes, engages art & empirical research. #PracticalTheology@NTC_Manchester
People talking about aesthetics are talking about culture/systems/ the entire world of legal structures, symbols, linguistics. Not about ART - about a whole world of thought & structure: But, we think about art... So what can we do? A turn towards empirical in PT.
"the ark of the material universe isn't as long as you think & it tends towards heat." A comment from an activist & theologian. The beauty of activism, of surviving, the joy & pain in longing for life. #Theology@NTC_Manchester Don't jump too soon towards hope without lament.
Thinking about the divine in the light of tragic. The role of the sacred in times of crisis. Standing naked before God in times of trial. #Theology@NTC_Manchester Starting with the idea of GOP, Climate, tragic.
Looking forward to @UofGlasgow professor Heather Walton about to plunge into "Practical Theology as Creative Work (in challenging times...)". So far: poetry, deep silence, justice, engagement, arts, clay, ceramics & all things deepening of theology @NTC_Manchester#Theology
