Anyone who commits sin tampers with an unseen spiritual life and allows it to be registered within him, where it remains. When you commit sin, you bring something into your members that desires continuity.

Sin is not limited to those things that carnal men recognize as wrong. It actually refers to an established life of Satan that we have come to love (Luke 16:15). The introduction of God's dominion to man is intended to gradually deliver him from that life.

Our warfare is our honor, and it goes beyond prayer. It is a posture of obedience against sin in the spirit. We are warring against spirits in high places that oppose our rising above darkness, so our ability to refuse sin is our true warfare.

We should be sincere and come to God for help when we discover that the true desire of our hearts is not God Himself. We must find grace to repent of sin and divorce our love for things other than God.

The initial feeling of attraction that one feels toward the opposite gender is not enough to sustain a marriage. It takes a soul that agrees to die to self in order to maintain a God-fulfilling purposeful marriage.

When a believer has the mind of Christ, he employs God’s life to make decisions. A spiritual believer, for instance, will not choose a spouse on the basis of feelings alone. Such one relies solely on the Leading of the Spirit.

To love one’s wife is true humility because love involves covering your wife even in her weaknesses. This love is best expressed when the other person offends, falls short, or acts contrary to your expectations.

Even though our spirits are regenerated and a measure of the knowledge of God’s will is present in the soul, we may still reject God’s choice of a spouse for us. Our eyes need to be opened to see God’s judgment in order to choose a spouse who sincerely loves the will of God.

When the hearts of a couple are consumed by the love of God, nothing can dissolve the marriage or union. Inside the love is a kind of resolve that many waters cannot quench nor floods drown.

Marriage is not an ordinary thing before God. It is dangerous to marry according to your own desires. God does not want His children to marry based merely on personal wishes because they may end up choosing according to lust. He desires to lead them in that decision.

Marriage is a covenantal union between a man and a woman. This is the way God ordained it. Anything outside of this is an aberration before God. Marriage was designed to serve the purpose of fulfilling God's will. Homosexuality cannot fulfil the will of God.

Satan constantly attacks marriages because he wants to prevent the Lord’s purposes from being fulfilled. Marriage was instituted in Eden, but when man fell, the divine template for it was lost. One of the keys to restoring it is obeying the instructions laid out in Eph. 5:24–25.

Entering into marriage is entering into an unending commitment that we should not walk away from. Young men should build themselves to be able to spend all their years with one woman without growing weary. Women, likewise, should do the same.

Jesus’ washing of His disciples’ feet exemplifies the role of a husband toward his wife. Jesus washes the church so that He might sanctify & cleanse her with the washing of water by the Word. In the same way, a man should be willing to wash his wife; this requires death to self.

Marriage is supposed to be a union between two selfless people who have died to their selfish desires. The man and woman whom the Lord joins together are expected to be spiritually mature enough to handle marital issues well.
