@BethMooreLPM We were raised in the same tradition and moved to the UMC after hearing the Apostles' Creed and Gloria Patri for the first time. We still miss that other tradition at times, but absolutely believe God led us to our new liturgical home!
A dear friend and I disagree strongly on denominational goings-on; very strongly. And yet Christ demands that we love each other in spite of our differing perspectives.

We want to violate the current Book of Discipline so we can enforce a revised Book of Discipline while at the same time claiming the authority of the current Book of Discipline to prevent others from maintaining the current Book of Discipline.
Are these justice issues? It depends on your perspective of justice.
These are definitely issues of power and control. “I’m right. You’re wrong.” Since we cannot hold a Christian ethic in tension together, we’re going to fight over the rule book to force acquiescence.
