Union of homeowners, volunteers and supporters turning backyards in the city into a collective urban farm to feed the hungry. Vive la révolution! Vive la terre!
Next season, we will be rolling out a Workshare Member program. Work 50 hours in a season, earn a weekly CSA box. Half work shares (25 hours) available, no gardening experience necessary, plenty of non-gardening opportunities. Visit us at https://t.co/32Z0FPmCbM for more info.
The vision of Revolutionary Earth is to feed everyone in our city with food grown in and around our city. It's not just about food justice for the marginalized and disadvantaged, but about building community resilience.

The sisters of St. Francis used to run a farm west of Saint Mary's hospital, at which they grew all of the food for patients and staff. This hospital in Boston recognizes that excellent food (organic, local vegetables and fruit) is preventive medicine.

Backyard gardens build resilience for low-income folks, but it doesn't stop there. Everyone benefits from growing their own food and growing it together.

By 2050, 80% of food will be consumed in cities. The vision of Revolutionary Earth is to feed everyone in the city with food grown within the city. We may not provide all of the food, but we do envision feeding every resident the best food.

The People's Food Coop (@pfccoop) has selected Revolutionary Earth for its December Bags and Beans program. If you are purchasing food at the coop and have your eco-friendly bags with you, be sure to pick up a few beans to drop in our collection jar!
Long live the Earth!
For every one kilogram of vegetables you grow yourself, you reduce greenhouse gas emissions by two kilograms. Let's become a garden city!

In Minnesota, we need to live like the most vulnerable climate victims. That means challenging the status quo of the American lawn. We can grow all of the produce we need for our city from land within the city. That's the vision of Revolutionary Earth.

Great personal reflection on growing food on lawns. Of the methods the author mentions, we have used sheet mulching so far, since we're committed to no-till and because it's the quickest and dirtiest (literally) method of converting a lawn to a garden.

We want to transform the wasteland into an ecosystem. Our system creates lots of waste and scarcity; even the "winners" lose. In an ecosystem, everyone wins. A garden that's good for humans can so easily be one that's good for pollinators too!

Thanks to Southern Exposure Seed Exchange for donating a bunch of heirloom seeds! We can't wait to incorporate these unique varieties in our farm plots next season! Thanks!
Many thanks to Seed Savers Exchange (@Seedsaversx) for donating first plants and then over a hundred seed packets to Revolutionary Earth! We could not have reached over seventy-five of the poorest people in Rochester without your help. Thanks!!!
Many thanks to People of Hope ELCA church (@peopleofhope) for their support this year. Towards the end of our season, this great community stepped in with extra vegetables, which increased our capacity and allowed us to add more clients to our route. Thanks!
We cannot thank Earth Dance Farm enough for their support this season. When we decided to start our home delivery service to low-income clients, Earth Dance graciously delivered fresh vegetables to our central site. We added several more households to our route because of you!
Props to the owners of Ole and Lena's Veggies (@OLVeggies), Scott Roser and his wife Lyubov, for their support this year. We see a great collaboration together with them coming next season! Thanks, Scott and Lyubov!
