Extremely troubled to read how many units of housing are sitting empty for AGES with NYers in desperate need. The maintenance and rehousing systems are clearly broken @NYCMayorsOffice. Thanks for your reporting @CityLimitsNews https://t.co/THnFvowkQc
A hopeful development for NY that this finally passed! (Prevailing over the usual suspects who want to delay a just transition so they can keep profiting from pollution). Thanks @sarahana and others who had the vision and fortitude to keep the pressure on! https://t.co/cVBwhy2ekd
I've been curious (and scared) to know where compost goes in NYC, and here's a great (and sensory) explanation. @cliomiso chased the smart bins! I'm impressed with the reporting and a little bummed to know how emissions-heavy this process still is: https://t.co/QPxEz19X3Z
TLDR it's a long journey involving different processing facilities, stages, "slurries" and smells. And in the end we get some solid stuff (1/3rd of which get COMPOSTED) and lots of methane. 1/2 of that gas powers the Greenpoint treatment plant. The rest is burned, releasing C02.
@KendraWrites This one’s hard to find because it’s a limited series buried in the BBC Intrigue feed from 2019: it’s called Tunnel 29. About a group of young people who dig an escape tunnel under the Berlin Wall. I remember it was good for workouts cause I kept wanting to hear the next episode.
I must file a complaint about auto-correct insisting on capitalizing Power Nap like a proper name. I’m afraid to google this and see if there is actually someone famous named Power Nap and I’m too old to know. Sadly I am also too old to remember how to take any type of nap 🙃.
Yessss!!! We need new words for “host” too. The same word shouldn’t describe someone with a self-branding side-hustle project AND the person who’s a lead presenter of a reported, crafted, scripted team-effort.
@freshbooks Thanks for being responsive to feedback! Since you asked, I'd also like to be able to add a new task from the plugin timer, instead of only being able to add ones that were already created in the browser version. Will DM if I think of any others.
@freshbooks please please make your time tracking tool and browser extension easier to use! (e.g. Why do I have to log in again every time I want to start the tracker?). If it was just a little less clunky it would be such a help.
@duffinkaren .@willcoley is right. In early days of using Descript (back in 2020), crashy behavior was worse the bigger my projects got. I started using an external drive to free up space. It also helps to set inactive projects to cloud storage only. Not sure this helps newer bugs though 🙃
