@bcherny Interesting take! I agree that these archetypes will exist (in some shape) but specialization will still be required when most roles become ‘builders’. I explore this here: No, design is not dead. Neither is engineering or product. https://t.co/QZmbfSmPc9
"Design is dead." "Engineering is dead." "Product is dead."
Spoiler: all three are alive and well. But the roles within them are transforming into "specialized builders" who ship using AI and codified judgment.

thank you to the first few users who sent feedback! 🙏
published a new version of salamander 🦎. improved annotation logic & added a copy button
new version is live on the chrome web store: https://t.co/CdSys4G7dl
if you use it, please send me feedback!
no more taking screenshots of websites & drawing red arrows on them❌
'salamander' 🦎, my new chrome extension, lets you annotate websites directly by clicking on page elements, then export your notes to share with others. they import your file & see your notes inline (see 🧵)

what you can use it for:
- fit-and-finish reviews
- heuristic evals
- giving contextual UI feedback to AI coding agents so they know exactly what to fix on the page
no data leaves your machine, so it's completely safe😃
try it & lmk what you think
designers & builders, if you strip out the AI from your product and it remains fully functional, is your product truly AI-native?
hi friends!
penned some thoughts on how to embed AI in product experiences:

@felixleezd 100% agree! The whole point of figma is that people who don’t know how to code can build clickable wireframes quickly.
But with vibe-coding, we can build functional prototypes (better than clickable wireframes) much more quickly and easily than building figma mocks!
