Don't suppose I have connections with clergy/church leaders in the following constituencies - East Bedfordshire; York Outer; North Dorset; Bournemouth - who want to help prevent child detention being included in the Illegal Migration Bill? Let me know asap & I'll give more deets!
@elizabethlowson@DrBattyTowers@Rachelb105 @KatAlf I remember a churchwarden saying to my fellow curate, "I've seen you at 4 evening meetings this week, I think you should go home and see your wife!" She recognised she was there voluntarily and as a retired person she had other options for what she could do in the day.
@elizabethlowson@DrBattyTowers@Rachelb105 @KatAlf I think it's also good to encourage mutual understanding between clergy & lay leaders about each other's time & need for rest, family, chores etc & encouraging each other into good habits.
@DrBattyTowers@elizabethlowson@Rachelb105 @KatAlf On a related note I encourage our church volunteers to use Clockify (if they want to) because you can have a team whose time you can see. It's a way to recognise the time they are giving (sometimes on top of a full working day) - and offer certificates for 25, 50 hours etc.
