The goal shouldn't be recreating the comics/cover (looking at u BND) panel for panel, nor ignoring them for completely new foundations. Understand why the great stories worked, carry their DNA forward, and create something new from it. That's the kind of DCU we'd❤️ @JamesGunn

Look at Raimi's Spider-Man films. Spider-Man (02) draws from Amazing Fantasy #15, The Night Gwen Stacy Died and ASM #122, yet it's still Raimi's own movie. Spider-Man 2 draws heavily from Spider-Man No More and Doc Ock's classic stories while telling its own story.
