「鬼門」は中国伝来の概念だが、「裏鬼門」は日本独自のもの。
なぜこの思想が生まれたのか？
実は日本では、表の座敷や床の間が神棚・仏壇を置く公的な祭祀空間であり、裏の台所や納戸は竈神などを祀る私的な祭祀空間だった。
つまり日本には古くから【裏にも神がいる】という信仰があったのである。
