Due to the inclement weather, the following schools on Monday have been canceled:
Monmouth-Roseville HS; Immaculate Conception School, Galesburg 205, Galva, Mercer County, Knoxville, Kewanee, Sherrard, Galesburg Christian School and Carl Sandburg College.
Herscher HS grad Scott Meents ('82-86) went on to play 4 years at the University of Illinois and then he was selected with the 4th pick of the 4th round by the Chicago Bulls in the 1986 NBA Draft. He was a 6-foot-10, 225-pound forward.
M-R Titan football update: M-R (9-2) will travel to play Herscher next week in the quarterfinals. Herscher entered the 3A Playoffs with a 5-4 record and the No. 15 seed. The Tigers trailed Hall 8-0 on Saturday before rallying to win 17-14. Thrived as the "Cinderella team."
Some big news ... M-R football team will have fan bus leaving at 3 p.m. on Saturday from MRHS to Eureka.
Cost is $5 and then another $5 to get into the game upon arrival. Deadline to sign up is 3 p.m. Thursday. Jr. High students and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
