In his introductory press conference back in December, Marko Mitrović noted that this team would attack with & without the ball & would be aggressive in that attack.

Today, Luca Langoni attacks without the ball, wins the ball back — & then has a great transitional moment which leads to success with him scoring the goal in the end.

I asked Mitrović to reflect on the moment and to comment on whether or not he’s happy to see his philosophy paying off:

“I actually love what you’re saying right now. Maybe that’s the reflection of who we want to be as a team — very aggressive to recover the ball, but very aggressive to go forward. I actually really love your question. If you would ask me personally, about what kind of identity I want [the team] to have, I love that we are hungry to recover the ball and then we are hungry to go forward.”
