Now the story is entering its next chapter. 부산시 and related agencies are discussing how to safely guide or return 부캉이 to the open sea if it cannot leave the waterway by itself.

And 부캉이 may live on even after it returns to the ocean. Busan Dong-gu has announced plans to create a shark character for tourism merchandise and promotion, with a public character-design/name contest planned for October. Reports differ on whether it could eventually become an official mascot, so for now it is safest to describe this as a 부캉이-inspired tourism character project, not yet an official North Port mascot.
