Not a scholar of scripture. I read that the original transcript does not say “hell” it says “Sheol”. This is translated to hell, outer darkness etc. we don’t know what it means exactly. I confess I am an optimist.

As for weeping and mashing of teeth… is this a reaction under the control of each of us? Does that mean crying and grinding my teeth? That doesn’t sound so bad. If the NDE testimonies of “life review” are accurate most of us will do that.

I don’t know for certain that hell is real or not. I don’t truly believe in it. I don’t tell people to believe or not believe in it. I am certainly a benefactor of people who are highly impulsive/compulsive (65%-75%ish?) believing in it.

I’m not an expert in scripture but as I understand it Jesus gives us one commandment above all others. “Love god with all of your mind body and soul”. The simplest definition of god is “I am the way, the life, the truth”.

You don’t have to believe in hell to believe in god. That being said a significant portion of humanity are not very smart and slaves to their emotions. Fear being a big one. We use hell to trick them into acting like decent human beings. So we don’t have to kill as many of them. 😝 your welcome.
