To truly understand the transformative changes being made in our border security right now, we need to put certain things into perspective by considering what the ground situation was like decades ago.
This footage of a village headman narrating about how clueless the leaders of the previous government in Imphal were on the border situation exposes their hypocrisy and the hollowness of their claims about protecting the territorial integrity of Manipur.
No leaders or officials ever came to inspect the border as the village headman said. On the contrary, the present state government under the leadership of Honโble Chief Minister, Shri N Biren Singh launched the flagship programs such as โGo to Hillsโ, and โGo to villageโ etc, bridging the distance through door-to-door visits and delivery of various government initiatives, welfare and developmental projects to remote corners of Manipur. The โGo to Hillsโ was an eye opener for many.
He started deportation measures after the identification of illegal immigrants through the collection of biometric data and retina scans. He took up stringent measures to shield the Protected and Reserved Forest areas from encroachment & deforestation by destroying mass poppy plantations under the War on Drugs.
So that such a dark episode in Manipur history never repeats again, Honโble Chief Minister, Shri @NBirenSingh fought relentlessly to protect the indigenous communities of Manipur and achieved the historic scrapping of the Free Movement Regime (FMR) and the landmark decision to fence the entire Indo-Myanmar border. His fight to protect all the indigenous communities of the state continues till today.

I really relate to this. Spent 17 years in Delhi, and no matter how much I tried to fit in, always felt looked at with suspicion. I'll never forget one moment: three professional women from the Northeast living together, and a neighbour, upset that my dog was out, said, "Tie up your dog, and we know what all goes on in this house."
Donโt get me wrong - I have many good friends there - but beyond this bubble, I cudn't shake this underlying feeling of suspicion directed towards us.
Ofc, this suspicion that I'm talking about is at the baser level. Oja Bimol @Bimol_Akoijam is saying something much deeper - the underlying issues that go beyond surface level perceptions, lookinh right deep into the complexities that shape our understanding of belonging & identity. Iโm not surprised that many of us from the Northeast have experienced this sense of being treated as outsiders. This, I believe, mirrors how the government is treating #Manipur. Frustrating! And India's Northeast it is for me. From today.

These Meitei women and children, including an 8 months old infant, who were taken hostage before they were slaughtered in cold blood by their abductors - all in the name of their "struggle" for the "separate administration" to be carved out of Manipur for the so-called "Kuki-Zo" (an invented expression that has been put in place to serve the exclusivist "ethno-nationalist" mobilisation) people.
However, it must be reiterated that the hands of PM @narendramodi and @AmitShah, the Union Home Minister, and the members of the Council of Ministers, headed by @NBirenSingh, including the two cabinet ministers belonging to the "Kuki" community, are stained with the blood of all those unfortunate victims of the 18 months old mayhem!

Manipur MP, Shri Angomcha Bimol Akoijam, has hit the nail on the head! I second his opinion that extortion business operative along the highways has been normalised (illegally legalised) reportedly by the AR who allow Kukis to levy illegal taxes on vehicles running on these roads. SoO is the central government's blessings on the Kukis to operate their terror industry (from targeted killings of Meiteis to extortions on commercial and residential properties to illegal tolls on highways) in Manipur! Kindly give a listen to his nuanced and yet straightforward views.

You can blame China, USA whatever.
But it is about the sanctity of 60k troops deployed in Manipur.
Right from the day one what are they even doing?
The drones were allowed to fly for 7 hrs.
Not to mention Koutruk village is just 2 km away from Leimakhong Army camp.

Arnab questions ITLF's justification to drop bombs on Indian citizens. Who are they to grant themselves the right to bomb any part of Indian territory in whichever way possible? The drones used by Kuki militants are military grade, not toy drones. @narendramodi@PMOIndia@AmitShah
