NFTs are a good example of why randomness needs to be more than a black box

if a collection decides who gets a rare trait, which wallet gets selected or how rewards are distributed the randomness behind that outcome becomes part of the application’s trust model

that’s where @BeldexCoin’s VRF research gets interesting

verifiable randomness can make those outcomes independently checkable, with randomized NFT minting already cited as one potential use case

but the bigger picture goes beyond NFTs

beldex is also researching programmable confidentiality and privacy for applications that need computation without exposing everything underneath it

so two problems start meeting at the infrastructure level:

can an application prove that its random outcome was fair?

and can it keep unnecessary information private while the application runs?

those are very different problems

building infrastructure that can address both is where things get interesting

Adding privacy to your transactions is needed to allow real world payments to actually make sense on chain.

No one wants the world to know how much their vehicle payment is every month. Those details are personal, and should stay that way.
