A celebration of all things English at Roundhay School Primary Campus. From our YR outcomes through to those in Y6, we would love to share it all with you ✏️📚
We have loved our core text, The Explorer, this half term! One of our writing outcomes linked to the book was a setting description of the tropical rainforest. In Art, we have been working on collaging techniques whilst working towards our tropical flower final pieces. 🌺🌴
What a great afternoon spent considering how we can build further opportunities for poetry writing into our curriculum. I have come away with so many ideas to introduce at Roundhay and loved the special poetry performance from Khadijah Ibrahim ✏️
We are absolutely thrilled with our children’s art and English outcomes from last half term! Our Year 5s have absolutely loved reading @OnjaliRauf’s incredible debut. Their short stories retold an extract from the book and their art work was based around Hokusai’s Great Wave 🌊
I am so excited to finally share some pictures of our beautiful, new outdoor library! A HUGE thank you to our community for their generous donations back in October when our previous library sadly burnt down. We can’t wait to share this amazing space with our children! 📚💫
We will be selling raffle tickets on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday this week to raise money for @THTorguk. The winner of the chocolate hamper will be announced on Thursday so that the lucky recipient can take it home to enjoy during the Easter holidays!
This week, Year 6 have been writing biographies about Malala. The children have absolutely loved learning about such an inspirational woman and were so keen to include all of the reading that they have done in a piece of independent writing! Here are a sample:
From tomorrow, raffle tickets will be available to purchase for our Easter chocolate hamper raffle. We will be asking for £1 per strip with all proceeds going to @THTorguk ❤️ 🐣
