While on the campaign trail in Tarn Taran, I couldn’t miss the opportunity to visit Sur Singh village - a place deeply woven into the fabric of Sikh history and the legacy of Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji.
It was here that Guru Sahib briefly camped, and Bhai Bhag Mal offered his haveli and land (~1000 bighas) in humble service to the Guru. That haveli still stands today, preserved along with the historic Gurudwara Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji.
What makes this place truly special is that the descendants of Bhai Bidhi Chand Chhina, one of the greatest warriors and devotees of Guru Sahib, who was honoured with the title “Guru da Seena”, now in their 12th generation, continue to live here, performing sewa and carrying forward the Guru’s message.
Sur Singh today stands not just as a village, but as a living symbol of devotion, courage, and community spirit - a shining example of the Majha region’s cultural and religious heritage.
My deep reverence to Guru Sahib and to the defenders of our faith.
I discovered an evocative piece of history at Village Noordin in Taran Taaran, Punjab. A Mughal-era mausoleum built around 1654 along the old Delhi–Lahore highway, once serving travelers and traders on their journeys.
This remarkable relic stands as a silent testament to our rich history, yet it sadly remains neglected. Despite being listed as a “protected monument” under the Punjab Ancient Historical Monuments and Archaeological Sites & Remains Act since 2016, the site continues to deteriorate.
Like the Romans, Greeks, and Egyptians, we too must cherish and preserve the treasures of our own past.

Nearly three centuries after its founding, I visited my ancestral village of Musse in Tarn Taran, founded in 1718 by our revered forefather Baba Mussa, who led our clan of Dhillon Jatts.
Generations ago, a branch of this proud lineage journeyed beyond the fertile heart of Punjab to the sandy plains of Malwa, near Rajasthan. Through the passage of time, the descendants of Baba Mussa have continued to serve our nation with honour - in uniform, politics, agriculture, and public service.
With utmost respect and deep reverence for our Pitras (elders), may Waheguru grant us the wisdom, humility, and strength to walk the path they once illuminated.
Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi announced the Next-Generation GST Reforms in his Independence Day address from the ramparts of Red Fort.
Working on the same principle, the GST Council has approved significant reforms today.
These reforms have a multi-sectoral and multi-thematic focus, aimed at ensuring ease of living for all citizens and ease of doing business for all.

During my Independence Day Speech, I had spoken about our intention to bring the Next-Generation reforms in GST.
The Union Government had prepared a detailed proposal for broad-based GST rate rationalisation and process reforms, aimed at ease of living for the common man and strengthening the economy.
Glad to state that @GST_Council, comprising the Union and the States, has collectively agreed to the proposals submitted by the Union Government on GST rate cuts & reforms, which will benefit the common man, farmers, MSMEs, middle-class, women and youth.
The wide ranging reforms will improve lives of our citizens and ensure ease of doing business for all, especially small traders and businesses.

Shocked and devastated by the brutal attack on innocent tourists in Pahalgam today. I strongly condemn this cowardly terror attack. My deepest condolences to the families of the victims. Enemies of our nation believe fear can divide us. But, we stand united in grief and in resolve. Justice must be swift and uncompromising.
Thank you to all the BJP workers and leaders for their unwavering support throughout my campaign. A heartfelt thanks to my incredible team for their dedication and hard work. We will come back stronger in 2027!
Amazing victory! #TeamIndia#Silver@Neeraj_chopra1
Must appreciate Arshad Nadeem for winning the #Gold and dedicating this victory to his village that helped him during his training.
