Advocacy + innovation = impact.

Patients with #PAD facing amputation need hope and options. Steve was one such patient who needed both when doctors recommended leg amputation for his severe #PeripheralArteryDisease. Fortunately, Steve found Kym McNicholas (@kymbee) of the Global PAD Association before his scheduled amputation. With Kym's help, Steve was able to get under the care of @NickMouawadMD, who was familiar with advanced treatments including minimally invasive #PTAB. Dr. Mouawad performed the PTAB procedure and was able to restore blood flow to the affected leg.

Organizations like the Global PAD Association and podcast hosts Kym McNicholas and Dr. John Phillips are critical in helping raise awareness for PAD. We are grateful for their advocacy and for physicans like Dr. Mouawad who are advancing the care of patients by offering innovative treatment options for severe PAD.

Innovation. Enthusiasm. Collaboration. Success. These are just a few words that describe the first #PTAB case for Russell Reeves, MD, and team at Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown, NY.

This was a complex limb-salvage patient with significant disease requiring intervention at both proximal and distal landing zones. Options were limited, but the #DETOURSystem provided a new path forward. Following interventions at the landing zones and PTAB, the final angio showed rapid inline flow all the way into the foot.
