WAIT. CARP have TEETH???!!!
It’s true. Common Carp (and many other fishes) may lack teeth in their mouth, but have pharyngeal teeth in their throat!
These molar-like teeth help crush food items and move food into the gut tract🦷🍽️🐟 #NichollsFish
Having seen Aki Inomata's "Why Not Hand Over a “Shelter” to Hermit Crabs?" online so long ago, it was incredible seeing these pieces in person today @DaiwaFoundation !

Imagine a world where fish could recognize themselves in photos.
In a recent study, #OMU researchers showed that world could be real! Bluestreak cleaner wrasse can identify faces in pictures, even if they are digitally swapped onto new bodies.

The other day I finally saw something that I've wanted to see for a long time, and might never again. Phylliroe! This alien looking thing is in fact a nudibranch that's evolved to live in open water. Its fish-like morphology is often cited as an example of convergent evolution.
Our final feature for the #SummerArtShow is this fabulous watercolour of a giant river otter by @lisellefaeart.
Thank you to everyone who submitted their wonderful otter themed artwork!
