So pleased (and proud actually) to have finally got this one over the line for our fleet teams. Still more to do elsewhere obviously but also important to recognise this. Great work from @JoWilliamsWAST@RhianWilliams_ and their teams on leading on this π
It's fab to see our new #MerthyrTydfil fleet workshop now open and providing modern and fit for purpose facilities for #TeamWAST colleagues. It means we have now fully vacated our old #Blackweir site after many years of work to do so with this facility and our recently opened #Cardiff ambulance station.
Great to be able to visit the site of another big development for us today, the much needed new SE Wales fleet workshop in Merthyr, and meet WG colleagues and contractors on site. Itβs going to be a great facility for a key support service keeping our fleet on the road. πππ
First site progress meeting today on what will be WASTβs SE Fleet Workshop facility. Well done team the progress so far has been outstanding!

Not long home after a tiring but really great week meeting hundreds of @WelshAmbulance staff across Wales, including the formal launch of our refreshed values and behaviours by @DrCatherineGoo1. Great to see some of my team embracing these today! @RhianWilliams_ π
Continuing our tour of Wales with 2 more @WelshAmbulance CEO roadshows today. Was great to also be able to swing by another fab new facility we have going live in Aberaeron this week. Aberystwyth now and Llandrindod Wells this evening.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the death of a third colleague to Covid-19. Alan Haigh, an emergency medical technician with 20 years of service, had just become a grandfather. Our thoughts are with his family. Read our full tribute to Alan: https://t.co/jaqWvRYxmi
We are sadly continuing to see an increase in coronavirus cases, hospital admissions and people losing their lives.
We are facing a difficult few months ahead and we may need to take more action to keep Wales safe.
