Andrés “Clueless” Cano and the #PimaCounty Board’s majority apparently think Arizona law is a suggestion—and private property rights can be disregarded.
Their latest stunt: a blanket moratorium on private data centers.
Goldwater Institute’s John Riches calls it “patently unlawful” and says the county’s justification “doesn’t come anywhere near satisfying the requirements of state law.”
Riches explains: “You can’t just freeze lawful property development just because the county wants more time.”
Translation for Cano: “We haven’t figured out how to do our jobs” isn’t legal authority to stop everyone else from doing theirs.
Kathleen Winn @winn4AZ nailed it: “It looks like we…have a clown car.”
Except this clown car runs on taxpayer money—and defending this stunt could send taxpayers another bill.
Clueless Cano is unfit for office.

@mistclance@SecRollins@JudgeJeanine I would like to listen to your concerns. Please send me a DM, email me at [email protected] or reach out via my campaign website. I believe in accountability and respect for every Pima citizen. https://t.co/cbDaCyycdf
Thank you for asking. I'm running for Pima District 5 to represent everyone, and citizens' concerns should be considered with due regard—elected officials are supposed to work for you, and I'd like to see that attitude prevail. I visited your page and was impressed by the tenacity and passion tempered by respect I saw there. Obviously, I was not part of the board while this was going on, but I'm always willing to listen and do what I can.
I'm honored to share my endorsement by @LogCabinGOP of #Tucson!
"We were impressed by your commitment to the principles of limited government, fiscal responsibility, individual liberty, personal responsibility, public safety, property rights and a strong local economy."
Want higher taxes? Here’s Andrés “Clueless” Cano saying #PimaCounty residents “have the resources to be able to support nonprofits.”
Easy to be generous with someone else’s paycheck. Socialists love deciding how much of YOUR money you can afford to give away.
Arizona’s Constitution puts limits on that generosity. The Gift Clause requires a public purpose AND adequate value in return. A nonprofit’s worthy mission alone doesn’t clear that bar.
What services are taxpayers buying? At what price? Where’s the accountability?
“Residents have the resources” is no justification for spending them.
Your money isn’t Cano’s personal charity fund.

Andrés Cano and the socialist majority on the #PimaCounty Board of Supervisors think their politics are above the law.
Support data centers or oppose them—the board must follow the legal process, and you deserve to make your voice heard.
Goldwater Institute’s demand letter is blunt: “The data center moratorium was unlawfully imposed and should be immediately rescinded.”
It identifies multiple failures under A.R.S. § 11-833 and warns that property owners could seek legal compensation, at the expense of taxpayers.
Cano's incompetence is an embarrassment.
Pima County needs supervisors who understand the limits of their authority. “Clueless Cano” apparently needs a remedial course.
Replace appointed Cano with competent leadership: Elect Jeff Rhodes. #RhodesforDist5

Libraries serve children and families, so why are Pima County public libraries dispensing Narcan, fentanyl test strips, gun locks, wound care kits, and menstrual products through vending machines?
Do we want people with chemical addiction issues and victims of violent crime, including perpetrators drawn to the same place our children go to learn?
Why are we putting treatments and mature products within reach of children?
How is this a good idea? We thought libraries were for reading and learning, not medical treatments.
Our once-beautiful #PimaCounty has become a cesspool under the leftist socialist "leadership."
It’s time for a change.

Andrés Cano—who was appointed, not elected—has sat and watched #Tucson descend further into violent crime in our streets, chaos in our communities, and disrepair of our infrastructure.
He's been silent on tragedies that have made national headlines. While Tucson burns, he spent $5,000 in taxpayer money on a swearing-in party (we have the receipts).
Pima County needs new leadership. Andrés Cano is unfit to lead—the wrong guy at the wrong time for Pima County.
We can do better: Jeff Rhodes for Pima County Dist 5.

Dan is hosting a town hall meeting this morning. He invited Jeff to meet and greet people, as well as answer any questions. Please come out, speak to the candidates yourself and get to know who they are. Hope to see you there! 😃
Jeff also got to meet Sine Kerr (Arizona Lt. Governor nominee) and Congressman Eli Crane, who gave him one of his challenge coins. It was a very special evening!
