RHS students Sean Witte, Josh Galvez, and runner up Solomon Rosa won the Nat'l Automotive Technician Competition MN State Run-off this last weekend. We will be competing for the national award in New York in April. Congrats and good luck to these guys for a job well done.
My Adv. V.S class attended @MADAtweets "Shop Talk" with industry pros this morning. It was great for the boys to rub elbows with potential employers. In addition Drew Tarara placed 2nd in the Project Car Competition. I'm proud of all my guys today!

My students stopped by Apple Ford Lincoln in Apple Valley (@AppleAutos) this week for a shop tour. What a great experience! The students saw every aspect of the dealership. A few are even filling out applications for employment. Thanks Apple Ford Lincoln!

Last night Rosemount High School hosted the ISD 196 STEM Fair. Our students did a great job generating interest and answering questions about the program. We also brought inside the school a '31 Model A hot rod to peak a little interest. We were very successful!
The guys and I got the chance to attend the Transportation Showcase at DCTC this week. They had a good time talking with over 30 potential employers. The students had the chance to talk to a ton of professionals looking for employees like them! Thanks DCTC!
I attended the articulation meeting with the post secondary schools this last Friday at Hennepin Technical in Eden Prairie. Our articulation agreements have the potential save our students almost 25% of their college tuition costs.
Got a chance for the class to tour AAA and UPullRParts yesterday. A big shout out to Chris Dyson and Patrick McKinney for a great tour. The kids really enjoyed it!
First day with students was today. Looks like a great group of kids. My advanced class of 10 kids are really pumped about the new year and the opportunities ahead of them. They will be trained, skilled, and certified! Great additions to the industry!
Stopped in to see the progress at the school shop. New trough drains and oil separator tank. No more puddling.
Shop just might be ready for students after Labor Day. Making progress, but lots of work left to do. Nice job, guys.
Just got home from the MTTIA conference last week in Brainerd. Another great get together. A ton of interesting professional seminars and lots of things to bring home to Rosemount HS. Was good to stretch the brain!

The boys from @dunwoodycollege came over last week to share the awesome things Dunwoody can do for their careers. Lonny, Brian and Dave brought a bunch of great demos along with the Big Purple Challenger. All my guys got a kick out of the hot rod! A big Thank You for visiting!
A big shout of thanks to @MNNationalGuard for inviting us to tour Camp Ripley! A ride on a Schnook, tour of the mainenance facility, MREs, live-fire tank demos, and seeing how new recruits are trained. Wow! Very impressive! Thanks for letting me tag along!
Congratulations to RHS's Michael Adascheck for finishing 2nd in the MN State SkillsUSA HS competition! The competition was extremely close, and Michael killed it! For his efforts, he earned an $8K scholarship, tools, equipment, and bragging rights over ALL but one individual!
