Good morning. We hope you are all well and keeping safe. Due to an issue with access to the internet there will be a delay in sending out the Home Learning activities for this week. We will get them to you as soon as possible.
Dear Parents/Carers,
In order to keep you up to date with the ongoing Covid 19 situation, we are regularly adding information to the school website. Please keep referring to this and https://t.co/wLqEaQ2rlk. Thank you
Our Year 2 children are terrific entomologists! They've been lifting logs & leaves to see who's home, making careful notes on what they find! Observational drawings, food chains, life cycles & guide books about the beautiful nature at Poyll Dooey - we love going outside to learn!
Our Year 6's have read 'Holes' by Louis Sachar (one of our favourite books!) and from that have written a postcard from the point of view of the main character, Stanley. Analysing their reading, evaluating and editing their writing, it's a cracking activity!
We're all so proud to have received this wonderful certificate and shield from our friends at the @PoppyLegion - it's fantastic community spirit from everyone in Ramsey, and it's an honour to be a part of it.
@fizzy77@OurSaferSchools Hi, yes, hopefully tonight you'll have a leaflet like the one in the picture with parent log in details. Let us know if you don't get one.
It's been another terrific day with Sue from @MorrellsHand! She's been working with lots of children in school, sharing her expertise and helping our pupils on their way to beautiful handwriting!
It was a real treat to welcome Sue from @MorrellsHand to the school again today! She helped children with their handwriting in Reception, Yr1 and Yr 3 before delivering a cracking workshop for parents! She's back tomorrow, and there is another parents workshop on Thursday at 2pm!
Our Reception classes got their week off to a flying start, building bug houses with the help of the amazing Dawn from @manxnature - great learning, great fun!
Our 'Beachcombers' in Year 2 are busy observing, labelling and classifying different types of seaweed according to its different characteristics - one group seems to be Fronds Reunited 😆 @Cornerstonesedu
We are delighted to be hosting a Handwriting Workshop for Parents alongside Morrells Handwriting (@MorrellsHand) in February - come along for some great advice and tips to support your child's handwriting!
Our Year 6 children are enjoying some fantastic musical lessons in their 'Hola Mexico!' topic! This afternoon they have been performing 'La Cucaracha', as an ensemble, playing musical instruments with increasing accuracy, fluency, control & expression! Great learning, great fun!
In Reception our children are growing their own beanstalks! It's a great opportunity for them to develop their scientific skills of prediction & observation as well as recording & explaining any changes - well done, little scientists!
