@ajordannafa It’s the paradox of “novelty” within confirmatory research methods that baffles me. Exploratory research needs to be proud on being exploratory; instead of the current weird mix of exploratory dressing up as conformity.
Great to see retired athlete support being promoted.
If you are a retired athlete, and want to discuss your own experiences for research with the University of Edinburgh, please follow this link: https://t.co/FwnQO8yb1h
Helping to promote the support available to athletes leaving funded programmes, BEAA CEO Anna Watkins shared her own story with @pasport 🗣️
"You don’t have to do this on your own," she tells today's generation 🤝

For any retired athletes that want to discuss their experiences for research, we are still recruiting participants for interviews: https://t.co/FwnQO8yb1h
We know that change can be tough.
That's why we're joining together with @UKSportsInst and @GBEliteAthletes to raise awareness of the support available to funded athletes thinking about their next steps.

@uk_sport@UKSportsInst@GBEliteAthletes For any former athletes that wish to discuss their mental health experiences of retiring for research, we are currently recruiting for a PhD study with the University of Edinburgh: https://t.co/FwnQO8yb1h
@cat_gaglianone Not at all a textbook, but I find Stack Exchange to be a great source of discussion about the use of statistics in research methods (the best posts will include references to the articles/textbooks used to inform their rationale).
@TheStrugglingS4 Honestly, I think we need to be comfortable in publishing exploratory research; and justifying its value in providing scope for novelty. The current system demands the oxymoron of publishing confirmatory yet novel research… bad practice is the main way around it.
@kim_woods_95@TomJenkinspix Brave and powerful piece that definitely highlights the complexities of mental health in elite sport. Thank you @kim_woods_95 for sharing
