I'm Riah! I'm a sensitivity consultant with experience in the publishing & gaming industries. My areas of expertise include:
•Neurodiversity (autism/ADHD)
•cPTSD/trauma
•Disability (hEDS, related)
•Mental illness (various)
I am available for questions/contact through DM.
Between my mother's childhood stint in WitPro and subsequent marriages, my great aunt didn't find us until more than fifty years after she started looking.
I wish I had known that I was neurodivergent & had cPTSD
earlier in life ... & not even necessarily for others / so others would know, but mostly for myself (self-knowledge, self-compassion, self-care, self-forgiveness, self-advocacy)
Also, truly a shocker (/s), but my abusive sibling became a nurse. People who get off on control and manipulation thrive in jobs where they're in charge of vulnerable people.
(Triage nurse left me half-conscious and wheezing in the empty waiting room for two hours, wheeled my chair outside of the room when she took me in, refused to let me wheel closer alone or assisted, and then laughed when I struggled to climb on the bed.)
Adding my voice to this chorus. Nurses have treated me with remarkable cruelty on numerous occasions. The last time I went to the ER I didn't want to go because of medical trauma, but I had COVID related breathing problems and my husband insisted. Guess what happened.
All these people shocked that there's so many bad nurses haven't spent a lot of time in a hospital.
One time, I was in pain crying & the nurses were right outside my door laughing at me. Saying I was probably a drug addict and that they thought I was pregnant cause I was so fat
Like someone from Chicago and a Valley girl had a super nasally baby.
My grandma used to tell me about an author (whose name she forgot) who came to visit the area of NY I'm from, who declared the scenery the most beautiful he'd seen, but the accents the ugliest he'd ever heard.
@dichromaniac I bought gloves for it, leather palms and crochet backing. I've gathered a couple stickers. I have a pin. I've been looking at accessories. I'm so ready.
Y'all. My wheelchair is supposed to arrive at the warehouse tomorrow. They'll be able to bring it for a final fitting within the next week. I can finally be freeeeeeeeeeee~
I want to be a sensitivity consultant in the TTRPG industry. I've done fiction publishing, I've done video games, and I want to break into more games that I love and contribute to more inclusive creation.
