How many teams even have payers who score on a regular bases under the age of 23? Hard pressed to say half of them? (I seriously haven’t looked it up) So given that, there could be like 2/3 teams that might have 1 or 2 players under 23 scoring a shit load of goals. Nobody cares.
Probably one of the most useless stats on the books. When your team is scoring who cares how old they are? And if you have a young roster? … You will lead in this column. Has hockey become the new baseball when it comes to stats?!?
I mean, who does that? Is there really that many original six fans in this city that are not also Canuck fans? Who dons an O6 sweater for one night to take glee when their city’s team is scored against? They ain’t Canuck supporters that’s for sure.
I’m so tired of original six team fans going to the rink when their team visits their hometowns and then disappear after they’re long gone. That’s some pride, hey?
Goaltending stats are team stats. There’ve been great NHL goaltenders in the past but every one of them had great teams in front of them. I’m not saying a team makes a great goaltender but you ain’t getting into the HOF without a great team in front of you. Name one that has.
This is Langara Journalism. Come join us for Fall 2022. There are still a few seats left. You can be doing work that matters, not watching from the sidelines. If you’ve ever considered reporting, writing, researching, podcasting for a living, now is the time. @LangaraJSchool
@VintageCanucks Great work by the Twitterverse sleuthing out the actual photo from Getty Images. Fun fact: Photo taken by no other than Denis Brodeur, father to the great New Jersey Devils goalie Martin Brodeur. No wonder he nailed it paying close attention to include McLean’s intense stare down
@legh6987@RMac18@AndrewKramerNYT You are also asking for journalists to work for free. I will cede that I don’t know your financials but to ask for the NYT or any credible news organization to give away their news in this digital age is not understanding basic business practices.
@legh6987@RMac18@AndrewKramerNYT Pay 20 bucks to get informed. They paid with their lives trying to escape a fascist. It’s the least YOU can do. Really.
@Ben_Nelms Whether it’s watching war unfold irl on a phone or reading about it in the next day’s newspaper, like I did in the 1900s 🙄, it’s never comfortable. Even today, looking at past reportage of conflicts, I wince. The indelible image of war is never easy to look at. Nor should it be.
@NBCOlympics Obviously this camera will be just fine. God forbid however you let it slip off your shoulder and have it strike anything harder than a marshmallow… you’ll be looking at replacing the entire shutter, multiple circuits and the rear screen. Just sayin’ …

@MaryAnnMcKenzie Saddened to read this Mary Ann. Remembering Dale with fondness. She touched a lot of people and left a life-long impact. Truly an amazing woman.
Solid tribute to Canadian photojournalist Joe Bryksa who passed this week. Describes Joe to a tee… the one we all knew and loved. Thank you Melissa. @DoubleEmMartin
Joe Bryksa died this weekend. If you’ve followed Winnipeg news for any length of time, you’ve seen his work, and you’ve seen him. He was always as close as he could get to the heart of a story. One of the best photojournalists this city has ever known.
@patersonjeff It’s play and descriptive commentary like this that will turn the NHL into the WWE. Is that what we really want? I can understand but don’t condone either player’s actions however Edwards needs to be reined in, even at a regional level.
