more sport more fun

[Ric Salizzo @ricsalizzo]

@sandmanute No , full of confidence

[Ric Salizzo @ricsalizzo]

Constantly comparing yourself to other sports is a bit like insecurely checking out other guys at a urinal .

[Ric Salizzo @ricsalizzo]

@insidemyshoes Are you talking urinal ?

[Ric Salizzo @ricsalizzo]

@FinchBrett54200 @BarryCrocker198 Who's Barry ?

[Ric Salizzo @ricsalizzo]

This NRL AFL ratings comparison is so lame . Australia is lucky to have two incredible completions not to mention A League NBL etc . You're allowed to enjoy them all .

[Ric Salizzo @ricsalizzo]

I read a well intentioned member of the content industry say that they wanted to work on stories that matter to the community . Which is important but they forgot the bit about stories the audience wants to watch .

[Ric Salizzo @ricsalizzo]

@JasonCParis @NRL @NZWarriors @NRLKnights I reckon 2026 was a bloody good year . Only one team can win the title each season but you'd have to say by all measures Warriors were one of the best in 2026 and that should be celebrated .

[Ric Salizzo @ricsalizzo]

@Peter_Fitz I worked with Hugh in the eighties in NZ radio . He was such a good man to work with, really encouraging and so good at his job .

[Ric Salizzo @ricsalizzo]

Gutted for Connor Watson. Hes put everything into this season and deserves a grand final sendoff ... but sport isnt fair. One of sports good men.

[Ric Salizzo @ricsalizzo]

@HayleyByrnes @NRLcom So young

[Ric Salizzo @ricsalizzo]

Rugby has developed a obsession with creating meaningless trophies for post match photo opportunities .

[Ric Salizzo @ricsalizzo]

Such terrible news to lose Phil Gifford . An incredible journalist and writer . An artist with words and the bits between them . A friend who will be missed. We worked together at Radio I , Hauraki and TVNZ. He was kind .

[Ric Salizzo @ricsalizzo]

If players get dropped for poor performances should the same happen in rugby to referees or the person responsible for referee comms

[Ric Salizzo @ricsalizzo]

@RupertCoxTV Fully understand but a test is a test . You represent your country , surely you do it to the best of your abilities . I understand a few tweaks but if tests are just warm ups to world cups don't call them tests call them warm ups .

[Ric Salizzo @ricsalizzo]

Springboks gambled on making so many changes and got caught out . It was a test match and they failed the test . Australia are better than you thought and the ref comms etc was an embarrassment to the game .

[Ric Salizzo @ricsalizzo]

@tinusleroux I think you need to be tougher on your team . It’s all very well to manage game time and provide opportunities but you’re the best in the world and you need to live up to that mantle every game.

[Ric Salizzo @ricsalizzo]

@hmoke13 nah

[Ric Salizzo @ricsalizzo]

The answer to nz rugbys best competition is simple . What will sell the most tickets and get the most eyeballs engaged .

[Ric Salizzo @ricsalizzo]

and by the way , being honest and looking to make things better is not a sign of weakness, its a sign of strength

[Ric Salizzo @ricsalizzo]

I take my hat off to NZ Rugby for being honest and looking for a better model, just make sure self interest around the table doesn't form another unsustainable model.
