Imagine if the UK was a place where the 4m people desperate enough to rely on Food Banks to survive were as important as the 0.25m who might have to pay VAT to send their children to completely optional Private School.
Imagine.
As far as I can work out, the tax burden will STILL rise to the highest level since the 1940s even after you account for the Conservatives’ proposed tax cuts in their manifesto.
Less quickly than before. But still going up…
More on this on @skynews v shortly…
@Peston Houchen is a nefariously dodgy character, he fits in well with Sunak whom he noticeably distanced himself from during the Tees Valley Mayoral campaign).
@PippaCrerar I don't know how they have the balls after the test and trace blank cheque, PPE blank cheques, furlough scheme blank cheques and the massive cuts to welfare (more of which are promised in the manifesto!)
Except the govt of the last 14 years has cut police, cut the prison service & cut the probation service making it impossible for the law to show anything but mercy.
This is the same party talking about raising the threshold for being sent to prison because the prisons are full!!
@KateWilton1 Verification involves counting the number of slips from each ballot box and deducing the total. This process wouldn't give an induction of who has the most votes.
Also the rumour about Hall has won came out long before verification was completed!
