Coming out of twitter retirement for a bit to talk about all of this. I was never a Charlie Kirk fan; I found him to be far too soft and generic of a conservative, but I recognized the role he played. He appealed to the moderates and the politically illiterates.

5-10 years ago, those same high school kids wouldn’t care about anything political unless it meant war. I wouldn’t wish death on anyone, but it may have just been necessary to wake people the fuck up. I hate using this word, but Charlie and Iryna may just be important martyrs.

Glad that Kyle got the not guilty verdict as he should have, but I still feel bad for the kid. The media has made him one of the most hated people in the country, and he’s gonna have to try to go about life with that following him, at least for some time.
