"It's not like what they gave up wound up hurting them ... the real thing for them is maybe they shouldn't have taken the risk of Robert."
@richmacleod on if the Luis Robert Jr. trade was ultimately worth it for the Mets.

@DannyG_NYC If you look at this current sports media landscape and think the issue is people are TOO professional, you shouldn't be allowed on the internet anymore.
"Does he need more development before he's really relied upon to play such a major role?"
"I personally have A.J. Ewing starting in center field next season ... the defense is just so spectacular."
@richmacleod & @AndrewJClaudio_ debate over the struggling Mets rookie 👀
I’m not entirely convinced you can write in AJ Ewing as the every day center fielder for the Mets in 2027 quite yet.
Doesn’t mean he’s a bust, doesn’t mean he won’t develop further or have a role on this team, but I don’t think he’s a “given” right now.

@OriginalLadyMet Yeah I just wonder if he needs a little more development before being put into an every day role at this level.
He only played 12 career games in Triple-A.
@DTG616@jewmanji He can. And I very purposely mention he isn’t a bust and can still develop and have a role. But I don’t think that means he gets a guaranteed every day role next year for a team that’s gonna try to win.
I still think he will be good eventually but it might be early for him.
@DTG616@DocBeisbol 1) the team fucking stinks and 2) ironically more people have criticized me for being more positive about smaller aspects of things this year.
