10/18 7:35? PM ET NJ side of Hudson looking at #NYC saw this moving N above skyline. I believe it's the @SpaceX#Falcon9@Starlink launch. Can anyone offer knowledgeable insight to what's happening in the shots? FF, 1/6s, tripod, f8, ISO800, 300mm, heavy crop

Yes, one of a growing string of similar incidents in which we have been unable to identify or engage these unmanned vehicles. They are not even trying to conceal their presence, yet operate with impunity for weeks in restricted airspace, to the point fighters were relocated from Langley to other bases. If the Air Force can’t control the air over LangIey how can they control the air over Washington? I encourage people to go to the War Zone’s website and search these terms, “Drones and Guam” or “Drones and Colorado” or “Drones and Palo Verde” or “Drones and FAA or Arizona or Navy” and see what you find. Most people think drones are just a problem for countries overseas. Not true, we have a big problem here in the US and still no clue where these things are coming from or why.
@Debriefmedia An ET civilization may be a million years ahead of us with technology, but it may have taken orders of magnitude longer to achieve what we've done. A far advanced civilization may rely more heavily on technology and automation and in fact be less individually intelligent. 2/2
@Debriefmedia There are a lot of assumptions that an ET visitor would be highly intelligent. Intelligence is the ability to solve complex problems. Humans went from fire and horses to spaceflight and near-human AI in less than 300 years. 1/2
@jimeharrisjr 3/ We shouldn't assume objects that crash made the distant trip to Earth on their own. These could be more fragile exploration craft sent from a mothership.
@jimeharrisjr 2/ This technology would be inconceivable to people of that time because of the heat and amount of fuel required if all you understood was fire. In a 14 billion year old universe, an extraterrestrial civilization could be millions of years ahead of us.
The UFO/UAP topic can be confusing. Problems include signal/noise ratio, and information overload. This new guide by @bradcrispin is an excellent primer, rich with quotes from government, military and intelligence community sources. Highly recommended.

@theblackvault MUFON for representing The Extraterrestrial Species Almanac as serious work. I didn't realize what an embarrassment MUFON was to the cause until then.
It’s the antithesis of scientific methodology to ignore data because it doesn’t fit your preconceived notion of what the data should be. As @G_Knapp often says, “It’s our job as journalist and scientists to investigate the unexplained, not to explain the uninvestigated.”
