@NMonkey73@TomPhiladelphia@L_ewis3 When is the last time your country won a war without something like 15% of the forces being allies who would later take all the credit?
@NMonkey73@TomPhiladelphia@L_ewis3 I asked how much you and the Aussies participated. I never said nor would I that they did fuck all because people died and I don't disrespect that. But as a point of fact the Australian military was in no position to defend themselves let alone retake islands.
@NMonkey73@TomPhiladelphia@L_ewis3 No... The French beat you up and demanded you let the US form a republic... Because the French aristocracy deeply cared about the US being independent. LOL. I swear I'll fall out of my chair the day one of you admits you lost a war to farmers. I do... Vietnam. Afghanistan.
@NMonkey73@TomPhiladelphia@L_ewis3 You are essentially relegating their participation to being gracious enough to let us use their land while defending their country. I mean... They absolutely DID fight but they had a very small military which would not have stood a chance against the Japanese.
@NMonkey73@TomPhiladelphia@L_ewis3 The part that you seem to be missing is if you take away our obligation to protect you, Europe, Japan, Korea, the Philippines, and Australia we really only need half of what we have and have no need to "project power".
@NMonkey73@TomPhiladelphia@L_ewis3 Why would we need to project power again? We have the most powerful Navy in. The world, are surrounded by water and bordered by two countries who wouldn't last two minutes.
@NMonkey73@TomPhiladelphia@L_ewis3 If we weren't using an Australian base and blocking the Philippines would we have even fought in that war at all? What did the American people stand to gain from protecting the Philippines and Australia?
@NMonkey73@TomPhiladelphia@L_ewis3 Grenada, Panama, Venezuela, the Persian Gulf... You know how Google works right? I mean this is just me going off the top of my head here.
@NMonkey73@TomPhiladelphia@L_ewis3 And the war with the Confederacy after that, and the war with Spain after that, I know you wouldn't give any credit for WWI and II despite the amount of blood we lost fighting for land not ours... a reason I advocate for leaving this liability we call an alliance.
@NMonkey73@TomPhiladelphia@L_ewis3 Well I had to check. AFTER thee biggest naval disaster in US history the Navy still had (just in the Pacific, not the Atlantic) 3 air craft carriers, 1 battle ship, 50 destroyers, 20 cruisers, and 22 submarines.
