@HMRCcustomers By the way, I called the general helpline and the lady hung up on me after I explained my situation. I know this as I got the 'Thank you for calling HMRC' before the line went dead. I'm 99% sure she figured it was too complex to bother with. Will call the above number now.

@HMRCcustomers hello I am based in the US and was sent a self assessment tax return notice. I cannot get through to your helplines - I've tried multiple times and it cuts out after being ok hold for 40minutes. Please can you help?

@HMRCcustomers Yes I have used it - when it asks for my income and also level of savings/interest - I am a resident abroad in a country with a double tax arrangement (UAE for the 23/24 year) so not sure if this is relevant for me. Or should I put UK based income and savings/interest?

@HMRCcustomers Yes the tax refund is for 23/24. And will also need to claim for 24/25. Both return periods I was not resident in the uk

@HMRCcustomers They filed that form for tax year 22/23 and submitted a tax return for 21/22. And now I have a late filing notice for 23/24 so sounds like I need to submit that form? But would also like to claim a refund of tax already paid on interest to avoid US double tax.

@HMRCcustomers I had a tax company file the form last year and they advised me I wouldn't need to self assess but I can do again. Also I appear to have had basic rate tax deducted - it says tax on interest on mystatement . How can i claim that back?

@Enterprise Booked a car plus 2 car seats at Santa Marts Airport, Colombia. Turned up to be told they have no car seats. The staff couldn't care less - what is the point of reserving if staff can't be bothered to get things ready. Stranded at the airport with 2kids.
