Andy Burn'em blaming Mrs Thatcher for de-nationalising companies in energy, water, oil etc which resulted in foreign ownership is completely disingenuous, and frankly dishonest or just plain ignorant.

What Burn'em WON'T tell you is that Mrs Thatcher ensured that her government retained what were known as 'Golden Shares' in these companies.
These allowed the government to stop foreign takeovers and to have a big say in how they operated.

Guess what though?🤔

The EU objected to these Golden Shares through their 'Free Movement of Capital' clause - Article 63 TFEU.
So John Major started to sell them off accordingly BUT the vast majority were sold off by TONY BLAIR and LABOUR.

So the finger for lack of government control in this area needs to be pointed at Tony Blair and Labour, NOT Margaret Thatcher.

I would like to remind every sane person in the UK and abroad, that our Social Services arranged the marriage of an underage girl, living in a Bradford care home, to a Muslim, who had been abusing her since she was just 13 years old.
Her husband, "Zulqurnean, forced the victim to wear Islamic dress, eat a halal diet and stopped her from seeing her family because they were “non-believers.” He was also reported to have sometimes locked the victim in a cellar, sexually abused her and deprived her of food, education and medical care".
The Social Worker, who attended the wedding, was questioned by police but was not charged.

So, we are told that a £12,000 a year pension is unsustainable, (even though you have paid into it for the last 35years!) Yet paying £40,000 a year to house, and feed, an illegal migrant, who shouldn't be here and has paid nothing into the system is ok!

Absolutely staggered & furious that this Labour government has just agreed a £153million aid package for Pakistan, despite them refusing to take back Rochdale Rape Gang ringleader Shabir Ahmed.
No doubt Burnham has given his blessing to this as the incoming Prime Minister.
It seems Labour are institutionally incapable of putting the interests of our country first. But this is a new low even by their standards.
We should have told Pakistan they will get nothing until they take Ahmed back, but instead Labour has decided to reward them for not taking him back.

So, based on your own post, Grifter, the fall in the Gazan population is mostly people leaving not dying and, since Hamas say they have paid widows' stipends to 50,000 women, that means only 20,000 of the 70,000 deaths were civilians. That's the lowest non-combatant to combatant ratio in the history of urban warfare. And I'm pretty sure that 20k deaths out of 2.3 million people ain't a "genocide". Whatever you think of the IDF, the one thing they're not is incompetent. If genocide had been the aim, that wouldn't be the death toll.

It is one side of a verbal contract stated thousands of times by successive governments that if you pay National Insurance over your working life you will receive a state pension when you retire.

Jess Phillips has been utterly exposed as a fraud in this brutal Channel 4 interview.

The supposed champion for safeguarding women and girls just admitted she “absolutely understood” and “absolutely knew” that some r*p!sts, sex abusers and domestic abusers would walk free early under Labour’s scheme.

When pressed on why she and her party voted against the Conservative amendment to exclude these exact offenders from early release, her only defence? “There’s a prison crisis.”

Yes, Jess, there is but that’s no excuse for letting predators out sooner. The “safeguarding minister” shouldn’t be shrugging it off.

The interviewer confronted her with devastated victim statements. Phillips called the handling “appalling” and whined that some victims shouldn’t even be getting those letters. The interviewer fired back: “But that’s exactly what you voted for!”

Typical Jess Phillips: never taking responsibility. Just like when she blamed others in her party for “turning a blind eye” to grooming gangs (but never herself), or when she resigned from the Starmer government claiming she couldn’t get anything done only to throw him and the rest under the bus the moment it was politically convenient. It’s a clear pattern with her.

The same woman who was warned by the shadow justice minister that this would come back to haunt every single one of them. When the interviewer asked “does it haunt you now?”, Phillips coldly replied: “It doesn’t haunt me.”

Absolutely shameful, but entirely predictable from Jess Phillips.

Women and girls deserve so much better.
