Let me get this straight…

We're told today's temperatures are the hottest in 125,000 years, yet melting glaciers in the Swiss Alps are revealing human artifacts thousands of years old.

So what exactly is the theory here?

That ancient humans were living UNDER the glaciers? Building little igloos beneath hundreds of feet of ice? 😂

Or is it possible that these areas were once ice-free, that glaciers subsequently advanced over them, and that Earth's climate has been changing dramatically long before SUVs, coal plants, and private jets?

Apparently, climate history only counts when it supports the narrative.

He had only been in Australia for 6 months before raping the woman.

The boy, 16 at the time, had moved from Bhutan just 6 months earlier. He led her away from a house party, pinned her down and kept going while she cried and begged him to stop.

The judge went even so far as to say that the crime deserved prison, then suspended the entire 18-month sentence anyway.

The victim meanwhile, got a life sentence, where she struggled to bathe or brush her teeth for months, and can’t even call her own body her own.

Well I love the cartoon. And I applaud @RogerPielkeJr for continuing to fight the good fight. But I am so over this stuff. The climate wars and attacks on scientists that challenge the mainstream narrative continue, but may be muted during the Trump regime (I admit I have lost touch with what is going on in academia, but I suspect things haven't improved). Academia has suffered from the loss of myself, Pielke, others, not to mention the scientists that rejected the academic path or left very early on in their tenure.

While I will continue to set the record straight if I am asked (e.g. such as the DOE CWG), I've pretty much removed myself from the public debate on this topic (particularly after shutting down Climate Etc), apart from sporadic tweeting.

In the meantime, I am working in the private sector (Climate Forecast Applications Network) which allows me to bypass all the BS of peer reviewed journal publication, government grant applications, and generally playing the game to build academic prestige. Academics waste a colossal amount of time on that stuff.

Pielke is bypassing all that with his substack, sustaining his reputation and profile in the public debate. I have taken a different path. I am bypassing all that by doing client-driven research to help companies and governments understand and manage their extreme weather and climate change risks (timescales from days to decades). I have done some path breaking work in this regard, which is to the great benefit of my clients but unknown to the broader academic community.

So Michael Mann and the rest of that gang can go suck eggs, their path to irrelevance grows with every passing day. It's sad for academia and the education of the future generation of scientists. But the real action these days is in the private sector (e.g. the AI weather forecast models) and on social media.

Sonja, respectfully, does anyone at @victorianlabor understand that the taxpayer funded construction jobs come with insanely inflated, economically suicidal, salaries that no private builder can compete with. Thus private builders lose their best workers. Also on the taxpayer funded sites the workers are ordered to work slow because ‘more days, more pays’.
So every build is triple what they should cost. Your Government set the contracts up so that the only people who lose on the extraordinarily overpriced builds are taxpayers. The motto is ‘Everyone eats on the Big Build’, the international companies make a fortune, the union bosses get crazy rich, the workers do a third of the work for triple the money that they would get in private sector. Public hospital doctors went on strike Friday over money. They get half the pay of an unskilled labourer on a taxpayer funded site. So many hospital beds in new hospitals remain unused because the @victorianlabor government has allowed so much taxpayer money to be stolen on the construction of these hospitals and this is only one area that your government has burnt billions of dollars of taxpayer money over the last twelve years. The executive segment of the public service in Victoria has gone from 600 people to 2000 people since @victorianlabor took charge in 2014. Their salaries range between 350k & $1000000 per year. Within six months of moving to Australia, a foreign 16 year old teenager committed a brutal violent rape attack.

Australian judge Andrew Muller refused to imprison the 16 year old teenage rapist because he found that the rapist didn’t know that rape was against Australian customs - he had “limited insight into societal norms in Australia.”

In determining the sentence, Justice Muller somehow found that the fact that the rapist didn’t understand that rape was against Australian culture reduced his moral culpability for the rape.

I don’t understand. This is sickening.

In a victim impact statement, the victim described feeling a loss of dignity, confidence and sense of self.

She said she "can no longer call [her] body [her] own" and that night her life was stolen and would forever be changed.
