@ReaderPhx@RhyanRun@NYCNihilist@KobeissiLetter You know that’s happened with many of the jobs reports under Trump too yea? Thats why we’re not using this as a sole metric. What other metrics show economic growth under Trump besides the stock market?
@ReaderPhx@KobeissiLetter Using May job numbers just shows where we’re at compared to last May. So you have any metrics to show the broader job market is more robust? Are people out earning inflation? Are young people able to get affordable housing and goods?
@ReaderPhx@KobeissiLetter The only economic growth that could be measured is stock market. Inflation up since he took office, jobs down, debt up, first time homebuyer up to 40 on average. What growth can you show
@GETMOSSED@RexRacer_X@shreddingvenice@misssmarty6@DerrickEvans4WV The constitution doesn’t say anything about that, nor does the war powers resolution.
MAGA talked about the constitution all the time until Trumps second term. People with we the people tattoos suddenly able to spin things against clearly worded laws.
@GETMOSSED@RexRacer_X@shreddingvenice@misssmarty6@DerrickEvans4WV The argument that the clock resets after a ceasefire was used by Obama in Libya. If you want to use his horrible presidency and constitutional overreach (in several cases) as justification, be my guest. He’s everything Trump ran against, yet Trump is the rights version of him
@GETMOSSED@RexRacer_X@shreddingvenice@misssmarty6@DerrickEvans4WV Constitution gives Congress the power to wage war. The war powers resolution act of 1973 gave executive some flexibility to strike for 60 days. After 60 days congress must approve of further action. The opposite of that has happened and we’ve continued strikes
@GETMOSSED@RexRacer_X@shreddingvenice@misssmarty6@DerrickEvans4WV Executive order against a literal constitutional amendment, blanket tariffs that got shot down in the Supreme Court, going after college students who protested against Israel (some were jewish). He’s done it several times.
@misssmarty6@DerrickEvans4WV Waging war is the power of Congress, not the president per the constitution. They’re doing their job now, for once. Look at any poll, people don’t want war with Iran and are more concerned with the economy.
@RexRacer_X@shreddingvenice@misssmarty6@DerrickEvans4WV Waging war is the power of Congress. They since made powers giving the president 60 days to strike an enemy before Congress has to vote on a continuation. We’re past 60 days and strikes are continuing. This was congress’s answer.
@kruptminz@RepThomasMassie The Commission did note that some of the hijackers may have transited through Iran without passport stamps.
However, it explicitly stated it found no evidence Iran knew about or helped plan the attacks.
@kruptminz@RepThomasMassie Not an opinion, literally in the 9/11 commission report. A whole chapter on Saudi Arabia that we hid. Victim families sued after
@kruptminz@RepThomasMassie Oh, that’s why there was a whole chapter on Saudi Arabia in the 9/11 commission report. This is Iraq all over again. People just allow the donor class and profiteers to put our future in debt for endless wars.
@kruptminz@RepThomasMassie Congress's legislative "war on terror" is primarily governed by the 2001 Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF). this granted the president sweeping authority to use "all necessary and appropriate force" against those who planned, authorized, or aided the 9/11 attacks.
@kruptminz@RepThomasMassie lol. Thats not how it works. But it doesn’t surprise me the constitution is just a barrier for MAGA who wants him to have more powers than the presidents they criticized for… checks notes… abusing powers and starting wars. Hypocrites
@kruptminz@RepThomasMassie How many terrorists have we backed for our own agenda in the Middle East? Also, the constitution says congress has the power to wage war. They haven’t, they’ve done the opposite. But he’ll just veto it and do whatever he wants while bootlickers force war on us while we’re in debt
@kruptminz@RepThomasMassie Viewing them unfavorably is not the same as wanting war. Afghanistan and Iraq cost $10T just to kill one man. We are in massive debt and we’ve achieved nothing there.
