Melting the Iceberg called "government" is like trying to chop down a tree using sandpaper. A lot of effort goes in, but it takes a long time to accomplish the goal. The main thing is to start and stay the course. Of course, some "socialist " will always come along and pour water on the sandpaper, slowing you down, but you must still persist. An honorable goal is worth always the effort.
The difficulty with pursuing peace, it is a fantasy. Man had been at war since the beginning of time. I would love to see peace but accept it is an idealistic dream. It's true all nations deserve to have the opportunity to live peacefully, but you have to look at each's culture. The Israelis' as well as the Palestinians' each want total autonomy and neither really are interested in peace. The Mideast is very "tribal" in their concept and many of these nations are only a generation or two from sleeping in tents and having sex with their camels. So, to judge their situations from a Western perspective is impossible. We would do better leaving the region alone and stop trying to change their cultural ways into ours.
