@realDonaldTrump Well, that all sounds very nice. But it's against international law. Also, Gazans want to live in Gaza. The only workable solution involves the state of Israel and the state of Palestine working together for peace, so that Israel never bombs the shit out of Gaza again.
@elonmusk You, Musk, are a despicable human being. You constantly spread lies, and make up absolute nonsense, using your wealth and power to present it as fact. I thought you was supposed to have got someone to Mars by now. How's that going, eh?
Sad story in The Times about 88 year old farmer, John Kemp-Welch, who works 5,000 acres of difficult hill farming land in Scotland.
Fortunately, he somehow found time to be Chair of the London Stock Exchange, a stockbroker for 30 years and on the board of HSBC.
UNBELIEVABLE
27C IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT IN FRANCE
It would be nearly 10C above JULY average!
It's arguably the most extreme event ever seen in all Western and Central Europe, except for Italy which was untouched-as always.

Sadly, no. The America First/MAGA fraternity cares only about (their vision of) America. They view all other countries, even their closest allies, only as instruments to further their own gain. It's American exceptionalism on steroids.
The British right should see the JD Vance comments about the Labour Party for what they are - deeply insulting to the UK and down right disrespectful to us. I know they have abandoned a lot of what they used to cherish, but surely the country itself is still important to them?
If you live in Southeast Cornwall, are fed up with the Tory government and want real change, vote for Anna Gelderd, the Labour candidate. Only Labour can beat the Tories in South East Cornwall.
This election in South East Cornwall is about change.
It’s our chance for our special corner of Cornwall to get its fair share from the next Government. From a Labour government.
We need a fresh start.
There won't be some great catastrophe in our democracy if Keir Starmer ends up with a 400 seat majority on Friday morning (spoiler alert: he won't!) So keep calm and vote Labour to make sure the Tories/Reform parties are booted out and kept out!
OTOH, witness the current US House of Representatives with a tiny Republican minority. They managed to delay the progress of a much-needed aid package to Ukraine by SIX MONTHS because of the internal wrangling of hardliners despite a large majority of the House supporting it.
A party with a big majority is not necessarily more powerful or more extreme. The Labour majority in 1997 was 179 and we had arguably the least "Laboury" Labour government in history (to the disappointment of some and the relief of others).
A little note to say that there is basically no such thing as a #supermajority in the UK parliamentary system. The Prime Minister has just the same constitutional powers with a majority of 300 as with a majority of 3.
The biggest difference in the political dynamic is that it's harder for small groups of dissenting MPs of the governing party find it harder to form "unholy alliances" with opposition parties. This can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on the legislation itself.
Ofcom has dismissed complaints made about a Channel 4 News undercover investigation, which captured Reform UK volunteers expressing racist, Islamophobic and homophobic views.
It's time for the most inappropriately named MP to go. If you live in Braintree, please use tactical voting to boot out James Cleverly. Your tactical vote is LABOUR.
