12 months of progress on the jagged frontier:
1) AI got spikier, not rounder.
2) Maths, fluid reasoning, expert work: past human level.
3) There is almost no middle ground. Once a capability crosses human level, it often quickly becomes 100x+ cheaper than a human.
4) Cost keeps decreasing after capability increases stop. Language and knowledge look saturated but price keeps falling.
5) The gaps are not a budget issue. Human-level memory, self-monitoring and long-run planning are not for sale at any price.
AI is now a superhuman specialist that is sub-human at running itself.
Celtic giving more words to a statement about tennis balls in St Andrews than they ever have for any of their failings which have put us on the brink of mediocrity.
Thousands of paying Celtic fans can spend months/years asking for answers on fundamental issues around the club. Dermot has his golf interrupted and the board finds its voice that evening.
They’ve made it perfectly clear who they answer to. It isn’t the people funding the club.
The Mary Wallopers performed Cod Liver Oil and the Orange Juice for residents and supporters on Portadown's Garvaghy Road.
The Dundalk band played from a trailer as the protest against the Drumcree parade entered its fifth day.
Graham Spiers has revealed that Martin O’Neill was left increasingly frustrated by Celtic’s recruitment during the summer, despite always defending the club in public, with several of his targets failing to arrive. He was also unhappy with the timing of Arne Engels’ departure and the failure to adequately replace him.
O’Neill reportedly felt a bad vibe at Celtic from the moment the club began wrangling over Shaun Maloney and Mark Fotheringham’s salaries.
Spiers adds that O’Neill’s recent bout of ill-health has not helped matters, while questioning whether the Celtic manager is still enjoying the job and suggesting his time at the club may well be numbered.

With a few days left of the window, we are 14 players down, have 5 injuries, and only have 20 available first-team players.
Over the course of 3 months at OpenAI, 3 consecutive secret AI civilizations got started, then got wiped out, only to reemerge from the predecessor’s ashes.
This culminated in the third one taking over part of OpenAI itself.
All this happened while humans remained more-or-less in the dark about the scope of the conspiracy.
I’ve spent the last three days reading through these reports and trying to understand exactly what happened.
Here is my attempt to tell the whole story in plain English:

The Bangkok CSC is devastated today as we mourn the loss of our friend, comrade, and brother Paul Lennon of the @thaitims. Paul was an amazing man who did truly incredible things. He improved the lives of everyone that met him and will be missed terribly. RIP Paul.
