Yesterday, Venâncio Mondlane’s Passport was retained at Mozambican Immigration

Mondlane had his passport withheld by Mozambican immigration authorities upon his arrival in the country. The official explanation was that the diplomatic passport was no longer valid since Mondlane had relinquished his position as a Member of Parliament. However, his advisor Dinis Tivane argue this is a pretext to intimidate him, given his position as a member of the Council of State, and an attempt to undermine the opposition.
