I am very excited to share that the first and main Bitcoin $DOG Mode pull request has been merged!

There are a few more minor changes that need to be made and then a release candidate with binaries will be prepared so that developers can start running and testing $DOG Mode

Assuming all goes well in the testing phase $DOG Mode will be publicly released for everyone to run and use in the coming days

How $DOG Mode will impact Bitcoin artists and future Ordinals collections 🧵

$DOG Mode will soon upgrade the Bitcoin network to allow anyone to easily make high resolution "four megger" Ordinals inscriptions at extremely low costs

Based on current Bitcoin fee rates it would only cost an estimated 0.003 BTC ($231.25) to inscribe a four megger with $DOG Mode

Compared to the prior costs associated with inscribing a four megger this will save artists a dramatic amount of money

Many artists who previously determined it was not feasible to inscribe their art into Bitcoin because they did not want to compress their work down to 400kB will now be able to use Ordinals thanks to $DOG Mode

For example, soon it will become feasible to do an entire 10K PFP Ordinals collection on Bitcoin exclusively made up of four megger inscriptions potentially introducing entirely new minting metas

Furthermore $DOG Mode will lower Bitcoin's dust limit to 1 sat thus removing the need for "padding" on inscriptions

For a 10K supply Ordinals collection which would have previously used 545 sats of padding per inscription the savings for the artist would be 0.0545 BTC ($4,210.34) if inscribed via $DOG Mode transactions

These are just a few examples of the many potential benefits that $DOG Mode will bring to Bitcoin for artists

By embracing $DOG Mode we can lower costs and open up Bitcoin's design space enabling existing Ordinals artists to achieve feats not previously possible while also attracting a new wave of artists to Bitcoin

This will hopefully usher in a new era of creativity, attention, and minting metas for Ordinals
