One of my opponents supports building a wall along the Mexican border. Mexico is our ally, not our enemy; building a wall is a symbol of division and hatred and doesn't solve any of the complexities of immigration.

To make matters worse, now Governor Abbott wants to build a wall between Texas and New Mexico in an attempt to prevent Texas women from seeking healthcare in a neighboring state. These are our fellow Americans being walled in.

I'm tired of hearing about building walls to hurt our friends. We need to start building bridges and working together to find solutions for these insurmountable issues we're facing.

The end game should be to build these bridges to increase commerce and collaboration with neighboring nations and neighboring states, bridges to allow for medical freedoms, and bridges that lead to a better and more perfect union.

We are a country of solidarity and hope; our actions need to reflect that.
