This morning, the Samaritan's Purse DC-8 cargo plane departed from our Airlift Response Center in Greensboro, North Carolina—loaded with approximately 40,000 pounds of critical relief supplies and dozens of additional Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) members bound for Jamaica.

The plane is now airborne, carrying community and household water filters, medical supplies, solar lights, hygiene kits, cooking sets, shelter materials, and more—life-saving aid for families devastated by Hurricane Melissa.

I appreciate the fact that Father Custodio Ballester wouldn’t back down, even in the face of a jail term. He was also threatened with an 10-year ban from preaching.
