Standing Up for Democracy
Today, I joined fellow Nigerians, leaders, and members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) led by National Chairman Sen. David Mark to participate in a peaceful "Save Democracy" protest.
This event was not just an effort to protect our democracy; it was also a moment of reflection on how far we have fallen as a nation. We must resist the suffocation of our democracy by those who once claimed to have sacrificed to defend it, but are now doing everything possible to undermine it and silence opposition.
History will not be kind to those who traded the struggle for democracy for the comfort of power. We will not remain silent, we will not be intimidated, and we will not surrender the future of this nation. The will of the people must prevail—stronger, louder, and impossible to suppress.

Tinubu in Jos Confirms ‘Don't Vote for Me’ Prediction on Power Supply
During the 2023 campaign, President Tinubu made a clear electoral promise: “If I don’t give you constant electricity in four years, don’t vote for me for a second term.”
When he took office in 2023, Nigeria had a power supply of over 4,000 megawatts and lower tariffs. Today, the electricity power supply is less than 4,000 megawatts on the average, and Nigerians are paying higher tariffs. Nigeria currently has the lowest per capita electricity consumption in the world, with a rate below 30% of the African average. Africa’s average is 617kwh, Nigeria’s is 144 kWh. This means that Nigerians consume least electricity than other Africans.
In a glaring display of disregard for promises and a lack of trust, President Tinubu, during a brief airport stopover to visit grieving families of the Jos attack on Thursday, April 2, 2026, stated that one of the reasons for his 10-minute stay was that the airport had no electricity. “You have no light here I fly out in ten minutes” At a time when Nigerians are enduring days without power, our leaders cannot even stay a few minutes without it.
Now is the time to stop incompetent leaders—those lacking the capacity and compassion—who prioritise their own comfort over the well-being of the people and make empty promises.

Sir Alex Otti is indirectly telling Nigerians that every state in the country can easily have stable power supply without breaking a sweat . But no Nigerians are too naive to see this fact .
Nigeria can actually be better, but do Nigerians want Nigeria better .
ENGBF Seyi
In my entire adult life, I have never seen power supply, health and security of lives this terrible as a Nigerian.
But if you talk now, they will tell you Coastal Road.
Fuckin clowns!
Zamfara is bleeding
Katsina is bleeding
Sokoto is bleeding
Kebbi is bleeding
Adamawa is bleeding
Bauchi is bleeding
Borno is bleeding
Taraba is bleeding
Yobe is bleeding
Kwara is bleeding
Niger is bleeding
Benue is bleeding
Plateau is bleeding
Ondo is bleeding
Kogi is bleeding
But President Bola Tinubu’s sole focus is dragging all 36 governors into the APC to rig 2027, he’s already lost Nigerians’ trust through endless failures and abysmal leadership.
Medical doctors now sell cars.
Nurses now sell wigs and cosmetics.
Bankers now sell thrift wear.
Lecturers sell phones and accessories.
Engineers sell footwear.
Nigeria has a very wonderful way of killing innocent dreams.
They told you Lagos smells. You know Lagos smells. Instead of holding those in charge accountable and demanding strict policies that would create a more conducive environment, you’re busy insulting people for simply stating the obvious truth.
So who is actually dumb?
What is happening in our country?
I have just been informed that yet again, at the weekend, about 172 worshippers were abducted from churches in Kaduna. This is yet another unfortunate consequence of a nation where insecurity has been allowed to grow, unchecked and unchallenged in our everyday lives, as though it were normal. This should not be.
Even with the government and police stating they are not aware of this incident, we must ask ourselves hard questions. Is this how we will continue? Can we keep waking up to news of mass abductions, disputed figures, and official denials while citizens live in fear? Whether confirmed or contested, the frequency of such reports alone shows a greater crisis of safety, leadership, and unity.
Just recently, other communities in Benue, Zamfara, Kano, Niger and Plateau, have faced similarly gruesome insecurity. Nigeria is not at war, yet here we are again, counting victims with inconsistencies that surpass those of nations at war. A government that can mobilise resources for waste, for propaganda, for foreign lobbyists, but cannot secure communities or protect its people has misplaced its priorities.
To the people of Kaduna, you are not alone. We stand with you, and to the families whose loved ones were taken, we share in your pain. We pray and hope that those abducted will be found and returned safely, and that those injured in the course of this attack receive swift and full medical recovery.
If the denials are true, we thank God Almighty. if untrue, we stand with the families of those affected and urge the relevant authorities to take swift action.
Nigeria deserves a government that treats human life as sacred, the time to confront this insecurity is now.
