A friendly reminder that you don’t have to go big to do Franklin right. Three solid slices, a scoop of potato salad, some pickles and a stack of white bread will do just fine. photo: @fairlyllocal via IG

@WhiskeyRiff Check out Edna Lee Music on YouTube. She was from our hometown in Texas. She played the Grand Ole Opry way back in the 50’s -60’s. Maybe Ella Langley should cover a few of her songs.

Bo Jackson drilled Nolan Ryan in the face with a comebacker. Naturally, Ryan recovered and still threw him out.

On Sept. 8, 1990, Ryan stayed in the game with blood running down his jersey and gave Texas seven innings of one-run ball in a 2-1 win over Kansas City. He needed six stitches afterward.

Thirty-six years later, that bloody jersey is still one of the most unmistakably Nolan Ryan images ever.

@QShieldknight @CBKimbrell @JerodMcDaniel Row crop same way, the system is not setup for the agricultural producer without direct subsidy from the government. They want cheap food for the people, but the real cost of it will have to be payed to the producers through subsidies. Subsidies are for the people’s cheap food.

In May 1970, the senior class of Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School in Orange, Texas, booked a young, local three-piece band called ZZ Top to play their high school prom. Posing on stage with their gear for the school yearbook—which humorously printed their name as Zee Zee Top—a clean-shaven Billy Gibbons, Frank Beard, and Dusty Hill were just beginning their journey as That Little Ol' Band from Texas. Rest in Peace Frank Beard.

🎸 What is your favorite ZZ Top song?👇️

SPLOOT 🐊

American alligators call Sea Rim State Park home thanks to its spot in the Gulf Prairies and Marshes natural region.

The marshes provide important breeding and foraging habitat for many species here.
