Charlie Kirk didn't claim all black women lack brain processing power or stole jobs from whites via affirmative action. Figures like Joy Reid, Sheila Jackson Lee, Ketanji Brown Jackson, and Michelle Obama, who admitted benefiting from it. Those who believed these LIES likely misunderstood the clip. Charlie is still winning debates though he's no longer here with us.
Did the apostles preach revenge after Jesus was brutally executed? Did they rally the people to crucify the Pharisees in return? No. They preached brotherly love, they preached forgiveness, and they preached reverence for God, no matter the cost.
That message changed the world. The blood of the martyrs overthrew the might of pagan Rome and transformed it into a Christian civilization. If they had repaid blood with blood, the Gospel would have failed.
Now, to all the people who are grieving, who want revenge, who think we cannot live with people like this… believe me when I say I understand you. So much of me, in my flesh, wants to say the same things. To make an example out of them. To make them regret ever starting this.
But when I really stop and think about it, I know that isn’t from God. And if you’re honest with yourself, I don’t think you believe it is either.
God is going to be the Judge. He will judge perfectly. Our task is not to become like the darkness, but to shine light into it. We are called to try to save people, to save them even from themselves. And that is a superhuman task. In our own strength, it feels impossible. It feels foolish. But then again, so does the cross. So does the heart of Christianity itself. How can one Man pay the price for the sins of the world? How can we love our enemies? How can we turn the other cheek when someone strikes us? Nothing about Christianity is of this world… and yet here we are, called to live IN this world.
If we choose vengeance, if we embrace the hatred of those who despise us, then there will only be more tragedy like what happened to Charlie. More fathers who never get to kiss their children goodnight. More unspeakable carnage. More pain. More suffering. And none of us knows how terrible the scale could become if we travel down that road. Is it worth it? Is this really the smart thing to do? More importantly, is it the right thing to do?
If we let hate define us, then we cannot say we’re fighting for love. We cannot say we’re fighting for peace. And we certainly cannot say we are fighting for Christ.
Charlie Kirk didn’t advocate for violence, he advocated for free speech and he peacefully allowed and encouraged others to disagree with him. Would we honor Charlie’s memory if we respond to Charlie’s death with bloodshed and hatred? No.
The best way to honor Charlie Kirk, and even more to honor his Lord and our Lord Jesus Christ, is to live what He taught: to forgive, to rise above, to show grace even when it feels impossible, even when we are spit on, slapped, or when more of us are attacked. It doesn’t matter. The call remains the same.
I believe this is a turning point in the USA, the West, and maybe even across the world... but where WILL we turn?
I pray we turn to Christ.

@MasonCooper4 @RallierOfTroops @cricketjim1 No, not the tv deal as Sky has a very long term contract for T20 cricket. They wanted live cricket back on terrestrial TV. So they got round this by creating a new version of cricket that wasn’t T20. What’s insane is they still went and sold half the competition to Sky anyway!!
