@Mr_Salmonid@acoyne Please reassure us that you do believe there actually are such things as hard data and hard facts which exist and can inform smarter policymaking?
The only reason this stirs attention (and for MAGA conspiracy theorists, controversy) is because it seems unusual.
And that is because the media usually go along with this foolish bit of theatre. It plays out most days with most leaders almost everywhere.
Once in awhile a camera pulls back, like this, to show viewers a president or prime minister waving warmly at an empty airport tarmac populated only with a few aides, drivers and security personnel looking at their phones.
It is kind of comical. The rookies look awkward doing it; only the pros and veterans can make it look genuine. But they all know that the occasional wideshot makes everyone involved seem a bit foolish.
Don't be a dick. The world's most successful car company is currently @Tesla. Tesla, Inc was founded in America, by two American entrepreneurs. It is headquartered in Texas, and listed on NASDAQ.
Tesla manufactures cars in America, China and Germany. My first one was produced in Shanghai, my current one in California.
Teslas incorporate many Chinese components, including batteries - an area in which we have allowed China to become the world leader. Overall, the cars constitute fabulous advances in engineering, design, and of course, energy efficiency.
Zelensky is the single biggest obstacle to achieving peace in the Ukraine. Once everyone realizes that, this war will end and people of that region of the world can start rebuilding their lives.
Trump is tough to deal with. But Mark Carney should have known that when he made a promise in the election to get a good deal with the U.S.
He made the promise. He broke that promise.
U.S. tariffs have more than doubled and broadened on Canadian business since Carney took office promising he could โhandle Trump." Everything is worse. Canadians canโt eat speeches or pay rent with his political theatrics.
It is time for results.
China appears to be steadily shifting its U.S. bond holdings to Canada and other countries, according to investors, analysts and Wall Street strategists.
It's a long list with plenty of competition, but it's possible this diesel deal Trump has made with Putin may be the stupidest single thing Trump has done as President.
Putin has played him for a complete dupe.
Been driving EVs for a decade now, Great vehicles and getting better all the time. Too bad the slow learner MAGA set do not yet understand them.
Thanks to the chronic innovation lagging of the so-called Big Three (now just two, actually), Asian manufacturers are producing the world's best EV batteries and EVs. BYD, Polestar, Hyundai/Kia all have great electric vehicles. Toyota, Honda, Volvo coming on strong, as are other Chinese manufacturers most North Americans have yet to hear of (Chery, Geely and several others).
Tesla also makes great vehicles; am on my second now. But I am unable to support a company whose CEO advocates the breakup of my country.
Surely this is not too complicated for you?
