HB 484 passed unanimously in the House and Senate. Goal is to keep drunk driving offenders off the road and enhance penalties for those that try. I’m proud to have worked with advocacy groups like MADD Louisiana & @MADDNational to get the bill through the legislative process.

Gov. John Bel once again fails to keep a campaign promise. In 2015, he said he would promote conservative social and family issues. His veto of SB 156 shows that he has abandoned his commitment.

Great news! The Governor has signed HB280. This is a bill I had the pleasure of authoring which revises the eligibility criteria for school participation in the Student Scholarships for Education Program while also removing the 20% enrollment cap.
Louisiana’s school districts consistently land at the bottom of all the national rankings even though we outspend most of our neighbors on our cost per student. We need financial transparency to make sure our tax dollars are being spent where they are supposed to. #lalege
