Don't wait until after April, depending on how much capital you have right now to put in, you could put the full £4k in, get the free £1k, then do the same in April and get the 2026-27 free £1k, and benefit from the interest for a year. @daveboulton @MartinSLewis Honestly, if someone is, it's probably a bad investment unless they're very near retirement age and just want the tax free bonus as easy guaranteed money. For people waiting 20+ years for retirement, a private pension or a Stocks and Shares ISA will be far superior.
