Sorry to hear of the passing of Cliff Fletcher. Such a long hockey career in Atlanta, Calgary, Toronto and on the international stage. Condolences to his son Chuck, his daughter Kristy, son-in-law Jim, and their families.
@spittinchiclets@BizNasty2point0 When Doan's contact was up, he wanted to play 1 more season in AZ. He was willing to play on the 4th line and help the young players in the organization. Chayka told him no chance and then advised the Meruelos against bringing him back in the organziation in a hockey role.
.@CraigJButton summed a lot of what I heard privately on reaction to John Chayka and Mats Sundin heading #Leafs hockey ops.
"Confounding."
"Perplexed."

Good grief...first Vic Rauter, then Scott Oake and now Joe Bowen. All retired. One of the successes in life is the people you meet. All three brought entertainment and excitement.
Cheers Scott! Got to know Scott while in Winnipeg and help he and his family raise $ for the Bruce Oake Recovery Centre. Quite the career for a guy originally from NS!
As announced on After Hours, legendary Hockey Night in Canada broadcaster Scott Oake is retiring following the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Next Saturday night will be Scottβs final episode of After Hours. Congratulations, Scott, on a remarkable career! π
Great memories working with Vic in radio in Toronto and then having him as a guest on the radio in Winnipeg. Cheers Vic! Thanks for the laughs and the professionalism.
Canadian sports broadcasting icon Vic Rauter signs off for one last time. After nearly 41 years with TSN, the #WMCC Gold Medal Game was Vic's final broadcast.
Thank you, @TSNVicRauter π₯Ήβ€οΈ
#NHLJets had 4 shots in the second half of the game. For just over 20 minutes from the late second period to late third period, zero shots. Tough year.
